The players met with LSU's interim president Tom Galligan who praised the team for taking a stand.

"Thank you to our LSU football student-athletes for speaking up," he tweeted. "We support you, we stand with you against racism and inequality, and we know actions will always speak louder than words."

Athletes accross multiple sports have protested in the aftermath of Blake's shooting with NBA, WNBA, MLS and MLB players refusing to play and demanding change.

Several NFL teams opted not to workout Thursday in solidarity with the protesters and the New Orleans Saints all wore stickers with Jacob Blake's name on their helmets during Thursday's practice.
