LSU's playoff matchup vs. Oklahoma sells record number of tickets

Both No. 1 LSU and No. 4 Oklahoma each school sold their allotted 13,040 tickets to its fans for this year’s College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Dec. 28 in Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl ticket office had previously sold the remaining ticket inventory in July but announced that due to the high demand this game matchup, an additional 1,500 standing room only tickets were also sold making this year’s semifinal the largest number of tickets ever sold in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl’s in the 52-year history.


“We’re expecting a record crowd and an electric atmosphere in Mercedes-Benz stadium,” said Peach Bowl, Inc. CEO and President Gary Stokan. “Ticket demand is extremely high to see two of the nation’s top-ranked offenses led by this year’s Heisman Trophy winner, Joe Burrow, and Heisman Trophy runner-up, Jalen Hurts.”

The winner the Peach Bowl will play for the College Football Playoff National Championship in New Orleans Jan. 13.

The Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl's previous record crowd was 75,996 in 2016 when the game last hosted a Semifinal. No. 1 Alabama defeated No. 4 Washington 24-7 in the Georgia Dome that season.Fans looking for a ticket to the game will have to turn to the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl’s official secondary ticket exchange.
