The New Orleans Pelicans signed guard Sindarius Thornwell as a substitute player for the remainder of the 2019-20 season, the team announced Monday.
The 6-foot-4, 215-pound guard played 40 games (26 starts) for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the NBA G League, posting 9.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.4 steals in 29.0 minutes per contest.
The former South Carolina standout was a second round pick of the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2017 NBA Draft and has appeard in 137 career regular season NBA games, with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Pelicans are currently preparing for the NBA's restart on July 30.
