Taysom Hill was nearly flawless in the second half of Sunday’s matchup and his strong play led the Saints to a comeback win against the Los Angeles Chargers in the team's preseason matchup.
Hill led the Saints in rushing for the second straight game and was a perfect 9-of-9 passing in the fourth quarter. He also lead the Saints on a 9-play, 50-yard drive with just over a minute left that ended with a Wil Lutz 28-yard go-ahead field goal.
The 19-17 exhibition win was sealed on the Chargers ensuing drive when Saints linebacker Colton Jumper intercepted Los Angeles’ Easton Stick.
The Saints trailed 17-3 at the half but late in the third quarter Hill found a wide open Austin Carr for a 27-yard score with 3:17 to play.
New Orleans found the end zone again roughly midway through the fourth quarter when HIll capped an 11-play, 69-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown pass to Devine Ozigbo who tallied 53 total yards.
The Saints defense forced a three-and-out and Hill proceeded to lead the Saints on what proved to be the game-winning drive.
