During NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s Super Bowl State of the League press conference yesterday, he said, "Listen, we understand the frustration of the fans. I’ve talked to Coach Payton. The team, the players, we understand the frustration they feel right now, and we certainly want to address that.”

The league is now clarifying the commissioner has not talked to players and that he was not claiming he had talked to them during the press conference. The NFL says Goodell was listing all the groups that he knows are frustrated by the No-Call in NOLA outcome.

This comes on the heels of Saints play-by-play announcer and former offensive lineman Zach Strief calling the commissioner out.  "It’s a flat out lie that he said he talked to players.  Every teammate that I’ve talked to have all told me they have not talked to Goodell," Strief said.  Saints quarterback Drew Brees also confirmed the commissioner did not speak to him either.
