The Saints final injury report of the week has QB Drew Brees (thumb) and RB Alvin Kamara (knee/ankle) listed as questionable for week 8’s matchup against the Cardinals in the Mercedes Benz Superdome. Head coach Sean Payton was asked if he had made a decision to start Brees or Teddy Bridgewater against Arizona.
“No, we’ll just see,” Payton replied. “Both of those guys got a lot of work this week, so probably wait until Sunday.”
Brees’ timetable to return was initially 6-8 weeks, but if he does play this Sunday it would be just over the 5 week mark. Did the 40 year QB seem comfortable at practice this week?
“Yeah, he look good,” said Payton. “He’s limited, but we’ll have a good plan.”
Safety J.T. Gray is listed as questionable. He mainly contributes on special team but has been dealing with an ankle issue he suffered in Chicago.
TE Jared Cook, CB Patrick Robinson and WR Tre'Quan Smith have been ruled out, while no injury designation was put on CB Eli Apple and DE Trey Hendrickson. So, those two should be good to go.
