Do Drew Brees’ teammates think he’ll be back with Saints next season?

Piled onto the heartache of losing to the Vikings at home in the opening round of the NFL playoffs is the possibility that Saints quarterback Drew Brees could play somewhere else next season since he is set to become an unrestricted free agent or he could even opt to retire.

I don’t think anybody believes Brees will end up in another uniform, but he is turning 41 years old next week so “Father Time” may be calling. But, even after going through a thumb injury that kept him sidelined for 5 games, the seasoned single caller still looked stellar this season.  Brees completed 74% for his passes with 27 touchdowns and 4 interceptions.

“I know #9 and he has a lot of fight left in him,” said linebacker A.J. Klein as he was cleaning out his locker today.  “I don’t see him walking away from this game or this city or this team.”

A guy Brees is even closer with is his left tackle Terron Armstead, who also doesn’t think we’ve seen the last of him in Black & Gold.

“Me knowing him. I highly doubt he’s done,” Armstead said. “I think he’ll be back for sure.”
