Stephone Anthony was the Saints first round pick in 2015, but he ended up getting traded to the Dolphins 2 years later.  Miami declined the 5th year option on his rookie contract making him a free agent in 2019. The Atlanta Falcons and NY Jets brought him in briefly before thia season began, but now he is back where it all started according to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport.

A reunion I did not see coming: The #Saints are bringing back former first-round LB Stephone Anthony, source said. He’ll help on special teams, too, as he’s back with ST coordinator Darren Rizzi. They were together in Miami.

Anthony is 27 years old and spent most of his playing time in Miami on special teams.  Former Dolphins ST coordinator Darren Rizzi is now in New Orleans, so he must have liked what the linebacker brings to the unit.

In his career Anthony has appeared in 50 games and has made 149 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 5 passes defended, 2 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovered for a TD and 1 sack.
