The Saints are adding some depth to the defensive tackle position before training camp kicks-off on Friday.  NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo says 10 year veteran Ziggy Hood is joining the Black & Gold.

The #Saints are signing DL Ziggy Hood, source says. The 10-year veteran appeared in 12 games combined for the #Redskins and #Dolphins last season.

Hood spent part of 2018 in Washington and the other part in Miami appearing in 13 games where he racked up nine tackles. With Sheldon Rankins going on the PUP list before camp along with David Onyemata being suspended for the first game of the year, Hood will try and make his way into the DT rotation.

This will be Hood's 6th NFL team.  He has appeared in 141 games since being drafted in the first round by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2009 and has totaled 235 tackles, 14 sacks, and 42 hits on the quarterback.
