On the eve of the Saints first preseason game, a league source has confirmed that running back Kerwynn Williams has been signed.  He spent time in the Chiefs training camp last season, but did not play at all in 2018.

Williams was originally a 7th round pick of the Indianapolis Colts in 2013, but would end up on the Chargers practice squad.  He then spent 4 years in Arizona before brief stints in Kansas City, Detroit and Tampa Bay.

The 5ft8, 198 pound back has rushed for 971 yards on 218 carries with 4 touchdowns, along with 15 receptions for 126 yards. The 28 year old also has value on special teams with 326 kick return yards and 137 yards on punt returns.

The Saints waived/injured running back Matthew Dayes.
