The Saints handled their business Sunday beating the Panthers, but the Lions and Seahawks provided no assistance by losing their games so the Black & Gold finished the regular season as the three seed in the NFC. That means no postseason bye week for New Orleans. Instead they will be hosting the Minnesota Vikings.
A week off this time of year is a massive advantage. The last time a non-one or two seed won the Super Bowl was back in 2012, when the Ravens beat the 49ers in the Superdome.
The entire 2019 NFL playoff picture looks like this:
NFC
#1 San Francisco 49ers
#2 Green Bay Packers
#3 New Orleans Saints vs #6 Minnesota Vikings - Sunday 1/5 at 12:05pm
#4 Philadelphia Eagles vs #5 Seattle Seahawks - Sunday 1/5 at 3:40pm
AFC
#1 Baltimore Ravens
#2 Kansas City Chiefs
#3 New England Patriots vs #6 Tennessee Titans - Saturday 1/4 at 7:15pm
#4 Houston Texans vs #5 Buffalo Bills - Saturday 1/4 at 3:35pm
