There is no game on the final Saturday of the college football season. Instead it’s media day for College Football’s National Championship between LSU and Clemson that kickoffs Monday in the Mercedes Benz Superdome.
Clemson’s defense comes into the title game giving up 11 points per contest, which is tops in the nation. But, they also haven’t faced any team like the Bayou Bengals, who are the #1 scoring offense that puts up 49 points per game.
“He’s unbelievable,” said Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables about Joe Burrow during media day. “The poise, the toughness, the precision, the accuracy, his ability to throw on the run and improvise and extend players. He’s really, really good. It don’t matter to the left, to the right; we tried to do all the studies.”
“Just as a coach it makes you sick watching the tape,” said Clemson’s Dabo Swinney. “He just rarely ever makes a mistake, he’s always a step ahead, he knows exactly where to go with the ball. You’ve got him sacked, then you don’t. He creates.”
Then to complete the package for a perfect quarterback, a leader of men; Burrow oozes confidence, no moment is ever too large to handle.
