Another day, another water main break, another boil water advisory. This time it’s Uptown. A couple of days ago, it was Lakeview. Perhaps we should institute legalized water main betting in Louisiana so we can make wagers on where the next one’s going to occur. Maybe we should develop a new scale that measures “water main surge.”
Some refer to our Crescent City as “old New Orleans.” We DO have lot of history and culture after being here 300 years. We also have soils that are constantly shifting and sinking. Couple that with an aging infrastructure, and the outlook isn’t good and the fix won’t be cheap.
