Essence Festival is coming back to the Superdome this summer, and announced its all-star lineup today.
Comedian Kevin Hart headlines the first night of the festival, which runs June 30 - July 3. Nicki Minaj, Janet Jackson, and New Edition are the top-billed entertainment the next three nights.
The mid-summer event also includes empowerment and career seminars focused on Black women.
There hasn't been an Essence fest in New Orleans since the summer of 2019, as the coronavirus pandemic forced its in-person cancellation in 2020 and 2021, in favor of "virtual" events, instead.
