Eight LSU football players received 2021 NFL Combine invites Tuesday.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the NFL opted not to hold its traditional scouting combine but still invited players who would have received them had there been and event.
"It's a tremendous honor to be invited to the NFL Combine and I'm proud of each of these guys for putting themselves in position to take the next step of their football career," LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said in a news release. "It's disappointing that this group won't be able to have the full NFL Combine experience, but I know they are training hard and will put on a great performance at our Pro Day later this month."
LSU full back Tory Carter, defensive tackle Tyler Shelvin, linebacker Jabril Cox, safety JaCoby Stevens, cornerback Kary Vincent Jr. and receivers JaMarr Chase, Terrace Marshall Jr. and Racey McMath all received invites.
Those players will still have the chance to work out for NFL Scouts at LSU’s Pro Day which is scheduled for March 31.
