This year's Tiger Bowl had the perfect storyline set up, but Auburn won't be playing into that narrative -- at least in terms of its starting quarterback.
It'll be junior quarterback Bo Nix getting the start in Death Valley on Saturday night, news first reported by AL.com.
Auburn head coach Bryan Harsin took advantage of the uncertainty by waiting until gameday for his starter to be announced, with many expecting to see former LSU quarterback TJ Finley running out for the opening snap. Finley took over for Nix in the fourth quarter against Georgia State and led a clutch drive to avoid the major upset.

But it'll be the veteran getting another crack at the starting job. Auburn's decision could be driven in part by Nix's performance in the Tiger Bowl last season, throwing three touchdowns in a 48-11 rout. It was Finley starting on the LSU side for that game.
It's possible Finley sees action if Nix again proves ineffective, but regardless the LSU defense will have to prove it can hold up again without star cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. He'll miss his second consecutive game after re-injuring his foot, which had been troublesome throughout camp.
