Cincinnati Bengals quarterback and former LSU star Joe Burrow is out for the rest of the 2023 season due to a wrist injury suffered in his team’s Thursday night loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
The news came from Bengals head coach Zac Taylor during a Friday press conference.
“He had an acute injury yesterday. He tore a ligament in his wrist," Taylor said. "It will likely require surgery and he'll be out for the season.”
Burrow never returned to the game after going out in the second quarter following the injury, finishing with 101 yards and a touchdown on 11-of-17 passing.
With Burrow out, Jake Browning becomes the Bengals’ starting quarterback. A.J. McCarron will be the backup.
Cincinnati’s next game will be Sunday, November 26, hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers.
