LSU needed only 10 games last year to cash Over tickets on their win total of 7.5 at BetMGM. With a win over Arkansas in Week 11, the Tigers were 8-2 with two games remaining.

If they only need 10 games this year to cash Over tickets, the undefeated Tigers will be No. 1 in the Week 12 College Football Playoff Rankings with two games remaining.

LSU’s 2022 preseason win total of 7.5 was tied for the fifth-highest among SEC teams and the 22nd-highest among all Power Five teams.

Their 2023 preseason win total of 9.5 is tied for the third-highest in the SEC and the fifth-highest among all Power Five teams. And bettors are buying the increased expectations for the Tigers in this year’s offseason college football odds.

As of June 20, approximately 10 weeks before LSU opens the season against Florida State in Orlando, 85% of their win total bets are on the Over.

That share accounts for 98% of the total handle placed on the Tigers’ regular-season win total.

While the Tigers’ total hasn’t moved since opening at 9.5 in May, the odds have moved:

Over: -110 (opened at +115)

Under: -140 (opened at -110)

If you bet $100 on Over 9.5 wins at +115, the potential payout was $215 (including stake). It’s now $190.91.

If you bet $100 on Under 9.5 wins at -140, the potential payout was $171.43. It’s now $190.91.

For reference: The odds for Tennessee’s 9.5 wins are currently +150 (Over) and -185 (Under).

Bettors are also preferring the Vols’ Over, as they are for every other SEC team. Each of the 14 teams has an Over ticket share of at least 58%. Alabama is the only team with an Over handle share below 50% (26% on 71% of tickets).
