June is camp season in college football. Schools are hosting camps. The top incoming seniors and juniors are traveling the country to get offers and college football coaches are trying to secure commitments.
Over the last week, LSU Coach Brian Kelly has secured four commitments for his next two classes, including one of the best pass rushers in the country.
Four-star edge rusher Jesse Harrold from Tampa, Florida gave his verbal pledge to the Tigers over the weekend. Harrold also received heavy interest from Texas A&M, Auburn and Miami.
According to On3 industry rankings, he’s ranked as the 15th best edge rusher in the country and 14th best player in Florida.
Harrold is the highest ranked defensive player for the Tigers in the Class of 2025.
He receives that status because one of the top cornerbacks in the country recently decommitted from LSU.
Westgate star Jaboree Antoine has reopened his recruitment after taking official visits to Miami and Florida State.
Antoine is a must have for the Tigers. One of reasons why there’s been a demise of DBU at LSU is because the state has not been producing as many great defensive backs.
Here’s one in your own backyard and you can’t let him get away. He’s also from New Iberia. That’s the hometown of LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond, who is back with the Tigers to bring back DBU.
There’s still a long way to go before signing day in December and LSU is still very much involved in his recruitment. NIL will play a factor, expect the Tigers to put on a full court press to make sure he doesn’t leave LSU.
Despite the loss of Antoine, LSU’s recruiting class is still ranked as the third best in the nation according to on3.com.
And 2026 has the potential to be another great recruiting class for the Tigers. According to on3.com, three of the top 15 players in the Class of 2026 are from Louisiana.
St. Aug defensive lineman Jahkeem Stewart is ranked as the best defensive lineman in the country, University High’s Lamar Brown is ranked as the best interior offensive lineman and Catholic High’s Blaine Bradford is ranked as the best safety.
LSU is the favorite to land all three of them.
The Tigers already have two verbal commitments for the Class of 2026 and both are from New Orleans.
Edna Karr four-star defensive lineman Richard Anderson and McDonogh 35 safety Jakai Anderson. Anderson is an outstanding athlete and also plays wide receiver for the Roneagles and could end up being a receiver for the Tigers.
