The 13th ranked LSU Lady Tigers missed 59 shots on Sunday, but LSU guard Hailey Van Lith was on her game as she hit four three-pointers in a 75-60 win over Tennessee.

Van Lith was 9-18 from the field, 4-5 from three-point territory. She hit two big three pointers in the fourth quarter after the Lady Vols cut LSU’s 12-point halftime lead to one point.

It’s been an up and down year for Van Lith, but in a game she was desperately needed, Van Lith came through scoring a season-high 26 points. The point guard also had zero turnovers in 37 minutes.

LSU freshman Mikayla Williams also had a decent shooting day to go along with five assists. Williams was 7-of-18 from the field and had 15 points. It was her first double-digit game since the win over Alabama on February 11th.

Angel Reese had 11 points and 16 rebounds. Reese struggled to get buckets as she was 4-of-19 from the field. Coach Kim Mulkey said Reese told her teammates during timeouts, she needed some help, because she was struggling scoring.

Flau’jae Johnson only had nine points, but four blocked shots. Mulkey says the talented sophomore was under the weather and surprised she played.

LSU only shot 33% from the field. But Tennessee shot 31% from the field. It’s the sixth straight game LSU has held an opponent to less than 40% shooting and it’s not a coincidence the Lady Tigers have won six straight.

LSU has locked up the second seed in the upcoming SEC Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina.

They have two more regular season games left. They will take on Georgia on Thursday night in Athens.
