Now that Lane Kiffin will be LSU's new head football coach, what will has staff look like?
According to WWL LSU columnist Jeff Palermo, it'll look a lot like Kiffin's staff at Ole Miss.
"He is bringing a lot of his offensive . . . pretty much his entire offensive staff," Palermo said to WWL's Tommy Tucker, noting that those coaches include offensive coordinator Charlie Weis, Jr. "The strength and conditioning coach, the general manager, all of them have made their way already to Baton Rouge."
Palermo says Kiffin may have threatened Ole Miss officials with the prospect of taking his assistant coaches with him to LSU if the university didn't allow him to coach the Rebels in the College Football Playoff.
"Maybe Lane had his own ultimatum here," Palermo said. "I'm going to basically gut your program when it comes to coaching, and you're not going to have a chance in the playoffs because this is my team and I have the right to coach them."
Palermo said it's not known if those assistants will go back to Oxford to coach Ole Miss during the playoffs.
One coach who won't be joining Kiffin in Baton Rouge is his defensive coordinator, Pete Golding. Ole Miss named the Hammond native as their new head coach on Sunday.
