LSU bounced back from its season-opening loss to the Mississippi State with a 41-7 victory against the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville.

First quarter
LSU 7, Vanderbilt 0, 6:09: Jontre Kirklin scored on a 28-yard catch and run on a pass from Myles Brennan. The touchdown capped a six-play, 85-yard drive.
Second quarter
LSU 14, Vanderbilt 0, 12:28: Terrace Marshall Jr. hauled in a 16-yard touchdown pass from Myles Brennan.
LSU 14, Vanderbilt 7, 5:07: Commodores quarterback Ken Seals connects with tight end Ben Bresnahan for an 9-yard score. The touchdown capped an eight-play, 58-yard drive that started when Randall Haynie intercepted a Myles Brennan pass.
LSU 21, Vanderbilt 7, 4:12: Marshall Jr. scored on a 51-yard touchdown pass from Brennan.
Third quarter
LSU 24, Vanderbilt 7, 10:25: Cade York hit a 53-yard field goal.
LSU 27, Vanderbilt 7, 7:10: Cade York connected on a 31-yard field goal. The score was set up by a 48-yard Derek Stingley Jr. punt return.
LSU 35, Vanderbilt 7: Kirklin scored his second touchdown of the game on a 29-yard pass from Brennan.
Fourth quarter
LSU 41, Vanderbilt 7, 8:11: John Emery Jr. capped a seven-play, 79-yard drive with a 12-yard touchdown run. The rush put the sophomore running back over 100 yards rushing in the game.
