LSU advances in NCAA Tournament will face Michigan Monday

After a slow start against No. 9 St. Bonaventure, The eighth-seeded LSU men’s basketball dominated en route to a 76-61 victory in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

LSU will now face top-seeded Michigan, who defeated No. 16 Texas Southern, led by former LSU coach Johnny Jones, on Monday.

Tigers freshman Cam Thomas led all scorers with 27 points while LSU dominated on the glass and secured a 49-39 rebounding advantage. Trendon Watford, Darius Days and Aundre Hyatt all had double-doubles with 11, 11 and 10 rebounds, respectively.

The Tigers' defense was also impressive holding St. Bonaventure to just 33 percent shooting including just 3-of-20 from the three-point line.
