One of the most popular members of LSU’s national championship-winning women’s basketball team was already leaving campus on a high note after taking home the school’s first natty in that particular sport.
But now Alexis Morris leaves LSU not just as a champion but as a graduate.
Morris earned her degree in interdisciplinary studies and jubilantly collected her diploma on Friday.
She made her way to LSU in 2021, transferring to the Tigers from Texas A&M after the hire of Kim Mulkey to coach the women’s hoops team.
Morris had played for Mulkey at Baylor for a time, and she rewarded her coach’s continued support by excelling on the court for two seasons at the P-MAC.
Following LSU’s national title win, Morris was taken 22nd overall by the Connecticut Sun in this year’s WNBA Draft but did not make the team’s final roster.
