Mulkeymania is running wild in Baton Rouge. Just months after leading LSU to its first-ever national championship in women's basketball, Kim Mulkey will soon reap another reward.

Our partners at NOLA.com report that LSU and Mulkey have agreed to a 10-year, $32 million contract extension. That deal will make Mulkey the highest-paid women's basketball coach in the country. NOLA.com obtained the contract via a public records request. ESPN said it indepedently confirmed the information through an unnamed source with connections to LSU.

Mulkey would have earned $2.5 million annually through 2029 under her previous contract. The new contract calls for a $2.75 million salary this year. That salary would rise to $3.65 million by 2033, the final year of the contract. The contract also includes bonuses for advancing in the NCAA Tournament, winning a national championship, and for exceeding Academic Performance Rate goals. If LSU were to fire Mulkey without cause, the school would have to pay her a $2 million buyout.

The LSU Board of Supervisors must approve the contract. It's expected to do so at its meeting Friday.
