ALL WILDCATS IN THE FIRST HALF

JAY WARD ESCAPES TARGETING

LSU's defense got gashed early on, and it looked like it'd be without Jay Ward after a targeting call. The Tigers escaped that with the call reversed, but they trailed 7-0 after the opening possesion.

THAT'S NOT WHAT YOU WANT

One drive, one LSU turnover. The Tigers offense was moving the ball and had picked up a handful of first downs on its opening drive, then disaster struck. Kentucky sent a perfectly timed blitz that went unblocked and caught Max Johnson clean from his blindside. The QB fumbled the ball, which the Wildcats recovered. Kentucky took advantage for a 4th down touchdown on the ensuing drive to go ahead 7-0.
