LSU’s women’s basketball team came away with a decisive 30-point victory over Kent State Tuesday, winning 109-79, but the team’s most high-profile star was kept off the court for the game’s entire second half.

In the aftermath, Coach Kim Mulkey was asked the question everyone was wondering: Where was Angel Reese?

Mulkey said the benching of Reese was a “coach’s decision.” When asked if she would expand on that answer, she replied, “I could, but I won’t. It was just a coach’s decision.”

Mulkey was then asked if Reese’s lack of playing time was simply based on a lineup that was working in the moment, and she said simply, “Yeah.”

That lineup included Aneesha Morrow and Sa’Myah Smith in the Tigers’ front court for the second half.

Reese finished with 11 points and 5 rebounds, all in the first half of the game. LSU is back on the floor Monday night against Texas Southern.
