LSU’s current baseball stadium turns 15 this year, but it’s already getting a bit of a makeover that will add more seating for the Tiger faithful to pack in and cheer on the Purple and Gold.

The LSU Board of Supervisors approved a recommendation Friday that will move the home and visitor bullpens in service of adding field-level seating to Alex Box Stadium.

The home bullpen will relocate to a newly-built spot beneath the right field bleachers while the visitors’ bullpen will move behind a new wall situated past left field.

Moving the bullpens will allow for the construction of 160 new field-level seats.

Renovations will begin at the conclusion of the 2024 LSU baseball season and are expected to be completed in time for the start of the 2025 season.

The cost is listed at more than $1 million but renovations are not allowed to go above a $3 million price tag. The Tiger Athletic Foundation will foot the bill for the construction.
