A longtime Louisiana football rivalry is returning to the schedule.
LSU and Tulane have agreed to meet on Aug. 31, 2030, in Tiger Stadium, marking the first matchup between the schools since 2009.
The rivalry dates back to 1893, with LSU holding a 22-7 lead in the series. Tulane's recent resurgence, highlighted by multiple winning seasons and last season's appearance in the College Football Playoff, has fueled excitement among Green Wave fans for another shot at the Tigers.
LSU also announced several other future non-conference opponents.
The Tigers will host Southern on Sept. 9, 2029, in just the second football meeting between the two Baton Rouge schools. Their only previous matchup came in 2022, when LSU rolled to a 65-17 victory.
Northwestern State will visit Tiger Stadium on Aug. 28, 2027, followed by ULM on Aug. 26, 2028.
Both games are scheduled for the Saturday before Labor Day weekend, the traditional opening weekend of the college football season. The dates suggest the contests could be played as Week Zero games, or they may reflect the possibility that the regular season will eventually begin one week earlier.
One other scheduling note: LSU's athletic website no longer lists the previously announced home-and-home series with Arizona State in 2029 and 2030.
