Pelican State Prep Football Preview: Week 8

As Week 8 of the Louisiana high school football season begins, the state's prep football fans are paying close attention to the LHSAA's reclassification numbers. Those numbers, which were released this week, are anticipated to create changes in the state's district lineups--some big, some major. Complicating the issue is a new LHSAA rule in which teams who opt to play up in classification must play in 5A, preventing teams from playing choosing the higher class in which they'd participate.

Meanwhile, the 2025 district races are in full swing, with some schools getting an opportunity as early as this week to clinch their district titles. In some other races, teams are jockeying for position, and this week's games could make or break some squads' hopes at a district title.

We'll take a look at all of these storylines and the week's biggest games in the latest edition of the Pelican State Prep Football Preview.
