The home stretch of the 2026 prep football season begins this week, and this week's schedule features several heavyweight matchups.
In District 10-1A, the two teams that competed for the Division IV-Select state title, Riverside and Ascension Catholic, will meet in a game that will decide who wins this year's district title. Ruston travels to Alexandria in a major matchup of North Louisiana powerhouses. Lafayette and Southside tangle in a local rivalry game. In Southwest Louisiana, Vinton and Rosepine meet in a battle of small-school unbeatens.
Those are just a few of the games we preview on this week's edition of the Pelican State Prep Football Preview.
