It's the penultimate week of the Louisiana high school football regular season, and this week, the playoff picture will become a little clearer.
In New Orleans, the top two teams in Division I-Select will face each other to decide the Catholic League championship. In Lafayette, a 5A power will face the top-ranked team in Class 2A. In Shreveport, one of the top teams in Class 4A will try to fly into the top seed in their playoff bracket. In Alexandria and Monroe, several teams will fight for positioning in the top four of their respective power rankings.
It's also Halloween week, and teams are hoping for more treats than tricks as the regular season draws to a close. We'll preview all of the big games and take a look at the playoff picture in this week's edition of the Pelican State Prep Football Preview.

Last week's winner was Matthew Bonura of the Haynes Academy in Metairie. Matthew will receive a football autographed by Harold Perkins, Junior. On Friday, the Manning Family Children's WWL Prep Football Roundup Presented by Acadian Ambulance and Dr. Pepper will be live on the Westbank as Hahnville hosts Destrehan in District 8-5-A action. This rivalry game could decide the District 8-5-A championship.
We'll also have correspondents at the Shrine on Airline for the Catholic League Championship Game between John Curtis and Edna Karr.
