Seven weeks into the season, the New Orleans Saints find themselves in a rut. The offense's struggles continue, especially in the red zone.

One analyst says the Saints biggest problem is a crisis of confidence.

"They don't have a confidence in what they're doing is giving them the best chance to win," WWL NFL analyst Mike Detillier told WWL's Tommy Tucker.

Detillier says if the Saints truly believed in their game plan, they would have made fewer mistakes through the first seven games of the season. According to Detillier, it's up to the Saints coaching staff to instill that sense of confidence in the team in order to right the ship.

"You got to be able to sell what you're doing to your team and have them believe that you've given them the best chance to win," Detillier said. "If you have a belief in what you're doing is going to give you the best results, you are going to minimalize those mistakes that you make."

Detillier also pointed to a second problem that he believes is hampering the Saints.

"The other part is being fully prepared," Detillier told Tucker.

Detillier noted that mistakes are bound to happen in the game of football. However, he says the overabundance of errors committed by the Saints point to a lack of preparation by the team.

"Knowing it most of the time is going to give you the best chance to (win)."

The 3-4 Saints have a chance to get back to .500 next Sunday in Indianapolis when they face the Colts.
