Two New Orleans Saints players walked out for Saturday's training camp practice wearing different jersey numbers than the day before, but one is a short-term rental.
After a two-practice wait, Marquez Callaway debuted his new No. 1 jersey that he'd teased previously on social media for the first time. The switch erases one of the numbers from the No. 12 he wore in his rookie season.

The switch was allowed due to rule changes that loosen the number requirements and allowing all non-linemen to wear single-digit numbers. Those numbers had previously been reserved for quarterbacks and specialists.
Alvin Kamara ran onto the field in another of those jersey numbers, the No. 6 previously worn by longtime punter Thomas Morstead. And, if you were wondering, Morstead approved.
The jersey will eventually be worn by Tommylee Lewis, who signed a deal to return to the Saints this week. It's unknown when he'll be available to practice.
This isn't the first time Kamara's borrowed another player's jersey in training camp. He and former teammate Teddy Bridgewater swapped jerseys during a 2019 minicamp.
The Saints are off on Sunday and return to practice Monday, with fully padded practices on tap for next week.
