The Saints were without the reigning NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Michael Thomas, during Monday night’s win against the Chargers.
Thomas was held out for disciplinary reasons after reportedly getting into and altercation with a teammate during practice last week.
Saints quarterback Drew Brees said he and other New Orleans leaders have spoken with Thomas and that the issue has been addressed.
“At the end of the day, Mike’s a big part of this team and he going to be a big part of this team moving forward,” Brees said. “We had an incident and Sean addressed it. Many of the leaders have spoken with Mike as well and we’re going to be all good.”
Saints coach Sean Payton declined to discuss Thomas’ status following Monday’s win when he was asked if the suspension would be for just one game.
“I’ll keep you posted,” Payton said. “That’s something we’ll discuss and we’ll let you know when the time is right.”
The Saints have a bye this week before returning to face NFC South rival Carolina Oct 25.
