Final Week 5 injury report: Saints rule out 4 players against Giants, 6 questionable

The New Orleans Saints have a long injury report heading into Week 5, and there'll be more than a handful of question marks when Sunday arrives.

The Saints have rules out four players, which includes two players that head coach Kellen Moore said earlier in the week wouldn't play in DE Chase Young (calf) and RG Cesar Ruiz (ankle). The most notable absence will be that of veteran CB Isaac Yiadom, who picked up a hamstring injury in practice and did not participate on Thursday or Friday. His absence will set up what is expected to be the first career start for rookie Quincy Riley, who has seen his snap share steadily increase over the past few weeks.

The Saints will also have six players listed as questionable, including TE Juwan Johnson and LG Trevor Penning, both of whom are battling ankle injuries and practiced in a limited capacity on Thursday and Friday. The Saints have also ruled OL Dillon Radunz (toe) questionable, after the veteran made his practice return for the first time since Week 3.

Here's how the full injury report for Friday broke down:
LP = limited participation; FP = full participation; DNP = did not participate

- TE Juwan Johnson (ankle): DNP | LP | LP - questionable
- T/G Trevor Penning (ankle): DNP | LP | LP - questionable
- OL Dillon Radunz (toe): DNP | DNP | LP - questionable
- G/C Cesar Ruiz (ankle): DNP | DNP | DNP - out
- DE Chase Young (calf): DNP | DNP | DNP - out
- QB Taysom Hill (knee): LP | LP | LP - questionable
- TE Foster Moreau (knee): LP | LP | LP - questionable
- WR Trey Palmer (ankle): LP | DNP | DNP - out
- S Justin Reid (knee): LP | FP | FP
- DT John Ridgeway III (shoulder): LP | FP | FP - questionable
- CB Isaac Yiadom (hamstring): LP | DNP | DNP - out
- DT Davon Godchaux (NIR - Rest): n/a | DNP | FP

One mystery for the Saints will be the statuses of both TE Foster Moreau (knee) and QB Taysom Hill (knee), with those players returning to practice this week for the first time after beginning the season on the PUP list. Moore left the door open for either player to get on the field, but that prospect is unlikely considering the time missed and the lack of a full practice to this stage. A Week 6 debut for one or both of those players would seem more realistic. The Saints will also have to make corresponding moves to clear roster spots before adding those players back to the roster.

The Giants now have 15 players listed on their half of the injury report, though none of those players have been ruled out. Three are questionable, while one is doubtful.

Here's how the Giants side of things stacked up on Friday:
- DL Dexter Lawrence (illness): DNP | DNP | DNP - questionable
- DB Tyler Nubin (groin): DNP | LP | LP - questionable
- RB Tyrone Tracy (shoulder): DNP | DNP | LP - doubtful
- OL Greg Van Roten (NIR - rest): DNP | FP

- DL D.J. Davidson (foot): LP | LP | FP
- DL Chauncey Gholston (ankle): LP | LP | LP
- DB Jevon Holland (neck/calf): LP | LP | LP
- OL John Michael Schmitz (ankle): LP | LP | FP

- QB Jaxson Dart (hamstring): FP | FP | FP
- RB Cam Skattebo (knee): FP | FP | FP
- QB Russell Wilson (ankle): FP | FP | FP
- OL Andrew Thomas (foot/rest): n/a | LP | FP
