Following rumors that the New Orleans Saints were working to bring Jameis Winston back for another year, the two sides agreed to a one-year deal reportedly worth up to $12 million, a league source told WWL Radio's Kristian Garic.
The details of the deal were first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Interestingly enough, NBA insider Shams Charania was the first reporter to break that Winston had re-signed, leading to some social media hilarity.
Schefter's ESPN colleague, Dianna Russini, had reported earlier on Monday morning that the Saints openly liked Winston and wanted to bring him back, though he won't be the starter by default.
That's probably because the Saints and quarterback Taysom Hill agreed to a seemingly shocking extension that isn't quite what it sounds like on the surface, and that Hill will be given "every avenue" that head coach Sean Payton can possibly give him to win the job, according to Russini.
