New Orleans Saints fans know Kellen Moore best as the head coach of the black and gold, but that only scratches the surface of his football accomplishments.
The former quarterback still owns the NCAA record for career wins (50) during a career that truly put Boise State University on the national radar, and his alma mater this week announced a larger-than-life, permanent statue of Moore will be featured at Albertson Stadium in Boise.

The bronze statue, designed by sculptor Ben Victor, will be over 11 feet tall including the base. The image of Moore himself will be 9 feet tall and feature the QB winding up to throw with his signature left-handed delivery. The program also announced that Moore, as well as former Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty, would be honored with alternate-colored hashmarks on the team's playing field. The 2 and 11 yard lines will be colored orange, representing the players' jersey numbers. Moore was inducted into the Boise State Hall of Fame in 2018.
The news adds another footnote to an illustrious football career. Moore spent six seasons as an NFL player (Lions and Cowboys) before transitioning to a QBs coach in the 2018 season. He spent multiple seasons as the offensive coordinator in Dallas before departing for one season as OC for the L.A. Chargers, then another season as the OC for the Eagles, where he helped lead Philly to a Super Bowl title won inside the Caesars Superdome.
sFollowing that season Moore took over the Saints as their head coach and helped lead the team on a 6-11 campaign that marked a step in the direction back toward the postseason behind young starting QB Tyler Shough and a rebuilt offense. The Saints will kick off this year's traning camp in late July ahead of a highly anticipated Year 2 for both Shough and Moore.
