Saints 1st round pick Taliese Fuaga signs rookie deal

The New Orleans Saints and their first-round pick have officially put pen to paper.

Former Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga, whom the Saints picked No. 14 overall in the 2024 draft, has officially signed his rookie deal. With the news, he becomes the first member of the seven-rookie class to sign their deal.

Salaries are slotted for first-round picks, leaving little wiggle room for actual negotiations. Fuaga's contract is expected to be fully guaranteed and for 4 years and $17.3 million. First round picks also have a 5th year team option baked into their deals.

Fuaga's parents were on hand in New Orleans with him as he signed his deal.

Fuaga will be one of several dozen rookies and tryout players in town for Saints rookie minicamp, scheduled May 10-12. As of 4 p.m. Thursday, six other rookies are yet to sign their deals, including 2nd round CB Kool-Aid McKinstry, three 5th rounders in QB Spencer Rattler, LB Jaylan Ford and WR Bub Means, 6th round DT Khristian Boyd and 7th round OT Josiah Ezirim.
