Atlanta thought they were being clever by not referring to the New Orleans Saints by name on the scoreboard of Mercedes-Benz Stadium during Sunday's Saints/Falcons contest in Atlanta.
The rivalry has become known for creative acts of pettiness between the two clubs, such as Atlanta's 2019 schedule release video that mocked the NFC Championship Game no-call that robbed the Saints of a second Super Bowl appearance, or New Orleans' pre-game video of highlights of the rivalry that included references to the Falcon's blowing a 28-3 lead in Super Bowl LI.
But after the Saints defeated the Atlanta Falcons 21-16 Sunday, the official Saints Twitter account took it upon themselves to correct Atlanta's scoreboard:
Not only did they change "Visitor" to the more accurate "Winner," they got in a little lagniappe pettiness by showing 28 minutes, 3 seconds left on the clock.
