How did the NY Jets let Demario Davis out of their building…twice? Since the linebacker arrived in New Orleans, he has been a standout star on the field and is a fantastic human being off of it for his charity work.

The 3rd year team captain has gotten recognized by the NFL. Davis is one of the 32 nominees for the 2020 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which is given to the player who represent the best of the league’s commitment to philanthropy and community impact.

"He's fun to be around, he's passionate, he's caring, he's understanding." said Saints head coach Sean Payton. "I think he's a very good leader, I think he endears himself to his teammates and think that he's a tremendous husband and father."

All nominees will receive a donation of $40,000 in their name to their charity of choice.

The winner of the 2020 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year will be announced during NFL Honors, the week of Super Bowl LV and will receive a $250,000 donation to the charity of their choice.

Davis gets to wear a ‘Man of the Year' helmet decal beginning this Sunday at Philadelphia and throughout the remainder of the season.
