The New Orleans Saints are currently on hiatus until the start of the full 2026 training camp next month, and we now know, officially, when that program will begin.
The NFL announced the reporting date for all 32 of its teams, along with the schedule for joint practices. Both Saints rookies and veterans will report on the same day, July 28. NFL teams that have hired new head coaches have the option to start a week earlier. The full schedule for practices will be announced by the team at a later date.
As far as joint practices, the Saints are set to take part in three, an unusually high number compared to recent seasons. Each will consist of one practice. Here's when and where they'll happen.
- Aug. 13: vs Jaguars in Metairie
- Aug. 18: vs Cowboys in Oxnard, California
- Aug. 20: vs Rams in L.A., California
The first joint practice held in Louisiana against the Jaguars leading up to the preseason opener is expected to be open to fans, as will be several other practices throughout the training camp schedule. The Saints are also planning to hold an open practice at Tulane's Yulman Stadium in the week leading up to the preseason finale against the Cowboys.
The second week of the preseason will be the biggest scheduling question, with the Saints expected to spend the week out in California leading up to their matchup with the Rams. The Saints' first two preseason games are on Saturdays, so they'll either travel on Sunday or Monday before visiting the Cowboys at their standard training camp facility in Oxnard, California the following Tuesday. The next joint practice will be held against the Rams the following Thursday. No specific facility has been listed, but the Rams camp is scheduled to be held on the campus of Loyola Marymount University.
The Saints will then face off with the Rams at SoFi stadium the following Saturday before traveling back to Louisiana.
