The Saints might be playing a home game in Jacksonville, but that hasn't stopped them from working to keep star Marshon Lattimore in New Orleans.
The team has made a lucrative extension offer to its top cornerback, according to a report from Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com. The multi-year offer would tie Lattimore with Baltimore's Marlon Humphrey as the second-highest-paid at the position, with an average of $19.5 million per year.
Jalen Ramsey's $100 million contract signed with the Rams last season is the current high-water mark.
Lattimore is currently playing on the 5th-year option of his rookie contract. Fellow 2017 first-round pick Ryan Ramczyk also signed an extension this offseason, which made him the top-paid RT in the NFL.
The Saints were hosting the Green Bay Packers in Jacksonville on Sunday, a location prompted by Hurricane Ida's impact on south Louisiana. Lattimore was listed as questionable going into the game, but was active to start at TIAA Bank Field.
