Why Saints' Emmanuel Sanders could receive a nice bonus Sunday

Saints receiver Emmanuel Sanders said earlier this week that his goal is to win another Super Bowl

“We've got an opportunity to win it all,” he said. “And so, I am definitely in grind mode, mentally, physically, all the time. Because I am in year 11. I do not know how many opportunities I'll get to go to another Super Bowl. And to be on a Super Bowl caliber team. It's a blessing, so I'm trying to take advantage of it."

Sanders said that a win Sunday against the Panthers would go along way toward reaching that goal as it could, with a Green Bay loss and Seattle win, net the Saints a first-round bye in NFC playoffs.

The two-time Super Bowl winner will likely need to have a big game as the Saints are without several key contributors due to COVID-19 including star running back Alvin Kamara. But a game from Sanders could also net him a nice bonus.

Per a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter Sanders will receive a $500,000 bonus if he has at least eight receptions Sunday.

Those receptions would give him 60 for the regular season as he’s currently sitting at 52 catches for 663 yards and four touchdowns on the season.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound receiver is in his first year with New Orleans and coaches have spoken highly of his work ethic, leadership and his play on the field.

“You know what your getting with him,” Saints receivers coach Curtis Johnson said. “He’s going to come off the ball. He’s going to block. He’s going to do what you ask him to do….

“It’s comforting to have someone that, you know what you’re getting from him and just what he’s done for the last 10 years that’s what you get from him in the building.”
