Drew Brees is able to come off injured reserve after spending that last 3 weeks recovering from multiple rib injures along with a collapsed lung. Will we see #9 back under center Sunday in Philadelphia?
Coach Sean Payton was asked if he could share any information on Brees’ progress and when he could return.
“I’ve not seen anything. I know he’s spending a ton of time in the training room,” Payton said. “I honestly wouldn’t be able to give you a timeframe.
He, like a handful of other guys, are working their tails off to get back healthy 100% and we’ll see when that is.”
ESPN reported that the 41-year-old is “tracking to play as early as Week 14”. Meanwhile, Taysom Hill has gone 3-0 as the Saints QB in Brees’ absence racking up a combined four touchdowns in wins over the Falcons and Broncos.
Sunday will be New Orleans 3rd straight contest on the road. Philadelphia has dropped 4 straight and have much different questions at quarterback.
Starter Carson Wentz was pulled in the 3rd quarter of last game for rookie Jalen Hurts. Eagles’ head coach Doug Pederson remains undecided who will be his starter against the Saints.
