Mike Detillier has been analyzing Saints, LSU and all things football on WWL Radio for years, but his role is now getting even bigger.
He'll be spending even more time on the air with Bobby Hebert and the SportsTalk team.
“Mike Detillier will officially join Bobby Hebert and Kristian Garic on SportsTalk Monday through Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m.," according to a station news release.
It’s the first time since the show’s inception that it’s a three-man show. Detillier made his debut on Wednesday's show alongside Garic and Hebert from 4 to 8 p.m.

“Two Cajuns and a Marine,” Hebert remarked. “It’s the perfect combination for sports fans in the Gulf South. I’m the 15-year pro and former Saints quarterback, Mike is the researcher and scout with deep connections in college, the pros, even high school and Kristian is the Marine and Saints insider with strong opinions, who gets to hold the reigns.”
Detillier said he is thrilled.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to have a role on this iconic radio station. I already feel like part of the family because I have been part of the WWL team for so many years, but now it’s official and full-time.”
Detillier first appeared on WWL Radio on the original SportsTalk with host Hap Glaudi back in 1983.
“Hap was a big part of my growth in the sports world,” Detillier reflected. “To be a part of the Sports Talk team on the Big-870 is what dreams are made of. There’s nothing better than talking sports with fans.”
Garic also welcomes Detillier to the south Louisiana team.
“Every day I’ll be a jockey holding the reins on two Cajun stallions,” Garic said. “I have nothing but love and respect for Mike and Bobby and so do the fans. Get ready for big time fun!”
Station management celebrated Detillier’s expanded role.
“This is big! We’re adding an iconic talent to an iconic show on a legendary brand,” said Kevin Cassidy, Senior Vice President and Market Manager of Audacy New Orleans. “As publisher of the annual NFL Draft Report, Detillier is an opinion leader about all things black and gold and purple and gold. His Draft Report has become the ‘Draft Bible’ for Saints and LSU fans.”
Detillier has been a staple in the sports community for decades, including on Saints game day for WWL Radio and and as co-host of ‘Second Guess.’
"When Mike Detillier talks about NFL and college football, people listen," said Diane Newman, Brand Manager of WWL Radio. "Fans hang on to his words. Mike’s participation in our fall football programming will continue. His role just got bigger.”
