Tom Brady breaks NFL's all-time passing yardage record in unceremonious fashion

In relatively unceremonious fashion, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady surpassed Drew Brees to become the NFL's all-time leader in passing yards Sunday night against the New England Patriots.

There wasn't a ceremony, and there wasn't even really much of a pause after Brady broke the record, other than the timeout the Tampa Bay happened to call after the play. Patriots owner Robert Kraft said on ESPN Sunday morning that there would be a pause after Brady broke the record.

"I want everyone in this building to know, right before the Buccaneers come out, you look at the big board and for one minute we're going to run something that I think is very respectful and worthy," Kraft said. "And if he winds up breaking the record -- although I guess in some ways I hope he doesn't, but realistically he will -- the game will stop and we will honor that moment out of respect to him as a great athlete and what he's given to us."

In 20 seasons with the Patriots, Brady racked up 74,571 passing yards, which set him up to break the record early in his second season with the Buccaneers.
