Black Friday may not spark the madness of storming stores at midnight any more, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t find great deals today. Some retailers are doing a better job than others of getting you into their stores. According to WalletHub, JCPenney, Macy's, Kohl's and Target are offering the steepest Black Friday holiday deals this year. JCPenney is at the top of the list for having the best overall average discount.
Drought conditions at the Panama Canal are roiling flows of gas liquids, tightening tanker availability and could eat into robust U.S. exports. And the situation will likely get worse before it gets better. The Panama Canal Authority has repeatedly slashed the number of vessels that can traverse the canal, due to a severe drought. The Panama Canal is a key shipping route for US-sourced liquefied petroleum gasses and natural gas liquids headed to the Asia-Pacific region.
Futures are up after stocks posted strong gains on Tuesday. The Dow Industrials added 184, the Nasdaq rose 65 and the S&P 500 was up 18.
