Domestic airfare is up 40% from the start of the year and is expected to climb another 10% next month. Online booking platform Hopper says in March, average airfare jumped 5.2%, the third largest one-month jump since 1999.
The cost of a domestic round trip is averaging $330 -- 7% above 2019 prices. For international trips, the average round trip cost is $810, up 25% from the start of the year.
Casinos are off to their best two-month start ever. Revenue from in-person casino games, sports betting and internet gambling reached $8.9 billion in January and February, up more than 19% from the previous record set in 2020.
Only five states are behind their gambling revenue pace at the start of 2020, including Louisiana, which is off 2.3%. The figures do not include tribal-run casinos.
