¼ of workers say they want to quit

More people are getting vaccinated, the area seems to have a handle on new coronavirus cases, and many members of the work force may be thinking of switching jobs. A quarter of workers in the Prudential Financial’s Pulse of the American Worker survey say they plan to quit or find new work after the pandemic.

It's a sign that workers expect the economy to get better. UNO business economics professor Mark Rosa says they call it the quit factor -- something that happens after recessions.

"People will quit their job, and maybe not even have another job lined up," said Rosa.

Rosa says for people who kept working through the pandemic, but had the option to work from home, that's become a popular perk.

"I hear it first hand, somebody saying, 'well, I kind of got used to this being at home, and I want a job that I'm going to be at home perpetually,'" said Rosa.

Rosa says it shows workers' growing faith in an economic recovery.
